3 Things You Need To Know About

1. Area for Incision
Armpit
The surgeon makes a 3 to 4 cm incision between the armpit crease and implants the prosthesis in the lower part of the breast.
Peri-Areola
The prosthesis can be positioned through incision around the pigmented part of the nipple.
Beneath The Breasts
The surgeon makes a 3 to 4cm incision on the crease underneath the breast.
2. Types of Implants
Saline implants are filled with a sterile saline solution, like salt water. The solution is held within an elastomer silicone shell. These implants can be filled with different amounts of saline solution. This affects the feel, firmness, and shape of the breast.
Silicone gel-filled implants consist of a silicone outer shell filled with a silicone gel. If a silicone-filled implant leaks, the gel will either stay in the shell or escape into the breast implant pocket. A leaking silicone-filled implant may or may not collapse.
3. Position of Implants
Dual Plane - This is the way that the lower part and the upper part of the prosthesis are placed against the breast tissue and muscle tissue respectively. It is effective for preventing a double line and sagging breasts.
Above Breast Muscles - This is a method positioning an implant right below the mammary gland. It is recommended for athletes or those having droopy breasts.
